It affected snacks and meals for the youth group some. He tended to just not eat pizza with us and we always tried to have something else he could eat. But the first communion service in the sanctuary with the whole congregation after his diagnosis, his mother suddenly realized he couldn't take the bread and, in a panic, raced to the kitchen from the balcony to see what she could find. She came back with a tortilla chip and served him herself when the elements were passed.
